Awaiting Your Return From Shore
Nestled between the sea and beautiful green valleys, Sevastopol sits on a
group of hills forming a natural amphitheater overlooking the magnificent
Bakhtiarsky Bay. This second largest of Crimea’s cities will greet you with
bays of astonishing beauty, impressive architecture, unique museums,
charming gardens, and attractive squares and boulevards.At the Malakhov Kurgan, the command post of Sevastopol, you will see the remains of the bastions that protected the city twice during its 200-year-old history, in the Crimean War and World War II.
Two miles from Sevastopol, the State Historical and Archaeological Museum houses the heritage of a 2,500-year-old civilization. Among the numerous other attractions is Balaklava, scene of long and bitter clashes in the Crimean War.
Pier Information. The ship will be docked at Grafskaya Pristan, the port of Sevastopol. It is about a 10-minute walk to the town center. Taxis are generally available. It may be difficult to find English-speaking drivers.
Shopping. Some popular items include Palekh
lacquer boxes, Matryoshka wooden dolls, wood carvings, painted plates,
embroidered blouses, amber, and Crimean sparkling wine. The main
shopping area is next to the Panorama Building, a 20-minute taxi drive
away, and at Admiralty Harbor, which can be reached on foot in 15
minutes. The local currency is the hryvnia. Except for private sellers
and souvenir shops, stores accept only local money.
Cuisine. Almost any restaurant downtown offers Crimean and Russian dishes. The main course is often Ukrainian borscht and Russian pelmeny (dumplings).

Sevastopol Aquarium. The aquarium displays a vast array of fish and
marine life from the waters of the Black Sea.
